Yachting is a very important element of the Dunes de Flandre water sports resort. We have two major objectives:o:p>

-         yachting should be accessible to and appreciated by the inhabitants of the district

-         yachting should be attractive for tourists

In 1995, the Dunes de Flandre District Authority decided to turn water sports into a priority, with two goals:

-         improve the offer of available activities

-         follow a coherent development strategy for the district

The Dunes de Flandre have been a part of the France Station Nautique network since 1996 and have taken concrete action by investing in two new water sports centres, that were officially opened in 2001.
